Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan Builds Relationships With Northern Michigan

Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan made a stop in Northern Michigan Friday. He shared the achievements he’s made in the city of Detroit and how Northern Michigan is helping.

The Northern Michigan Chamber Alliance welcomed Mayor Duggan at the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa.

Around 150 local business leaders and chamber members attended the event.

Mayor Duggan spoke about the new installments he’s made in Detroit including balancing the city’s budget for the first time in over a decade, and installing 20,000 new street lights across the city.

In the mayors efforts to get Detroit back on track, support across the state of Michigan is important.

“We’re always looking at ways that we can be part of the solution state wide. Whether it’s how we fix the roads, what we do about our schools, or what we do about the environment, so we want to be partnering with people from other parts of the state and we’re working hard on that,” says Mayor Duggan.

Mayor Duggan’s hard work was recently noticed when he was named among the “World’s Greatest Leaders” by Fortune magazine.
