National ATV Safety Week : Summer Safety Tips
It’s National ATV Safety Week.
The DNR says its a good time to remind riders to be safe as the summer approaches.
Northern Michigan sees plenty of ATV riders coming to the area.
The DNR says its important for riders to realize they will now see more people on the trails.
Riders are required to wear a helmet.
Officers say riders should know their trail, they should make sure their vehicle is in working order and keep an eye on riders younger than sixteen.
“You don’t have even ground to ride on there’s even more obstacles, ruts in the road if you’re not paying attention or going too fast those things are more of a hazard than when you’re on pavement.”
This weekend, DNR will have a free ORV weekend.
Riders won’t need an ORV license of permit to ride DNR trails.
