Gratiot County Man Recognized For Saving Child From Dog Attack

The man who saved eight-year-old Ethan Nokes from a dog attack is being recognized for his bravery.

Four rottweilers attacked Ethan at a relative’s Gratiot County home last month.

State police gave Kenneth Hansen a distinguished citizen award Wednesday.

Hansen and his work crew heard Ethan screaming from their construction site.

Hansen jumped over the fence and carried Ethan to safety while the dogs continued to bite at them both.

Ethan suffered more than 20 bite wounds, countless scratches and bruises and is still recovering.

A judge ordered the four dogs to be euthanized.
