Michigan Road Funding Debate Continues
As lawmakers work to find funding to fix state roads, Governor Rick Snyder and business leaders are fighting calls to transfer economic development funds to the transportation budget.
They say the legislation is causing the state to miss out on investment, and sends a mixed message as Michigan competes with other states for jobs.
The House Republican legislation targets two of the funds, $75 million in the 21st Century Jobs Fund.
And $60 million the state gets each year from American Indian casinos.
