Michigan Bans Poultry and Waterfowl Shows at Fairs Due to Bird Flu Concerns

As the bird flu outbreak continues, Michigan is banning poultry and waterfowl shows at fairs to fight the spread.

The state Department of Agriculture and Rural Development announced the decision Monday.

Calling the move difficult but necessary as the disease spreads to more than a dozen states.

So far, there are no reported cases in Michigan.

But they warn people to be aware of possible cases among wild or domestic birds.
