Fifth Annual Recycle A Bicycle Bike Swap Begins

If you have a bicycle that’s collecting dust.

This weekend may be the perfect time to get rid of it and put it to good use.

Tomorrow is the Fifth Annual Recycle A Bicycle Bike Swap.

It helps those who need a bike to get around this Summer.

On Friday, anyone that wanted to sell bikes in the swap dropped off their bikes.

Tomorrow’s event is open to everyone to test ride and buy bicycles.

The Recycle A Bike Program helps those who can’t afford a car or other transportation get around the Grand Traverse region.

The founder of the program says it’s important for those people.

“We give people transportation that have none or very struggling, struggling families.”

Since 2007, Cunkle has collected, repaired and distributed more than one-thousand bicycles for the community.

The bicycle swap starts at 9:00 a.m., Saturday morning and goes till 2:00 p.m. at the Old Town Parking Deck.
