Organizers Withdraw Marijuana Legalization Petition, Will Submit New Plan
Organizers pushing for marijuana legalization in Michigan are withdrawing their petition so they can submit a new plan.
The Michigan Cannabis Coalition is working to expand the language on the petition.
It’s expected to be approved by the Board of State Canvassers.
The petition would require more than 250,000 voter signatures before heading to Lansing for approval.
If lawmakers reject the bill or or take no action, it could go to a statewide vote in November 2016.
