Bill Marsh Hosts Veterans Luncheon in TC
A special luncheon honored veterans in Traverse City on Thursday.
On Thursday afternoon Bill Marsh hosted the first grill with vets event.
Guests enjoyed burgers, brats and hot dogs.
The purpose of the lunch was to raise money to build a permanent veteran’s memorial at Thirlby Field.
Organizers say this was just one way to say thank you to those who fought for our country.
“These veterans have given so much and in many cases they have never got the respect for the sacrifice that they make,”said Mike Kent, Traverse City patriot game committee member. “It’s great to look them in the eye — shake their hands and say thank you.”
Mike Kent is hoping to get the veteran’s memorial built by the Traverse City West vs. Traverse City Central football game on September 11th.
