MSP Prepping for Busy Travel Weekend

Planning is underway to keep drivers safe this Memorial Day Weekend.

If you’re planning on traveling this weekend, expect to see Michigan State Police patrol cars.

Starting Friday state police will be sending out more patrol.

It’s one of the busiest travel weekends of the year.

They’ll be enforcing traffic laws more to serve as a reminder for drivers to follow the speed limit.

Keeping drivers safe is their priority.

“Everybody stay safe. Drive in a safe manner. Give yourself extra time to get somewhere. It’s going to be a busy weekend so just gotta be patient and travel safely,” says Sgt. Shawn Wise, Michigan State Police.

MSP adds they’re also upping patrol for their Click It or Ticket campaign.

Those pulled over for not wearing a seatbelt will automatically be fined.
