President Obama Issues Executive Order Restricting Transfer of Military Equipment to Police

The decision comes after police departments used combat gear during protests.

Across the country there is tension between law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve.

Lawmakers are currently looking for ways to rebuild trust.

President Obama already took action yesterday.

He is limiting police use of military style equipment — including the use of tanks and grenades.

The President calls for the change after multiple high profile police shootings.

This afternoon, a Senate hearing will look at whether technology can offer more protection for the public and law enforcement officers.
