Petoskey baseball and softball win on the diamond

PETOSKEY – Petoskey’s softball team doesn’t normally wear purple uniforms.  However, they changed up their look to honor their bat boy Kurtis Mainland and help out a cause.

The Northmen softball team raised money for cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease that usually affects children.  An extra buildup of mucus can make it hard for children with cystic fibrosis to breathe or properly digest food.

Petoskey swept their games against Traverse City Central 4-0 and 9-8.

The Northmen baseball team also swept T.C. Central 14-5 and 4-3.  They won the nightcap in walkoff fashion with a Philip Schaub RBI.
