House Passes Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2015
In Washington D.C., the House voted to pass the Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2015.
The bill O.K.’s $8.7 billion for the Coast Guard for the 2016 fiscal year.
Provisions in the bill include money to design a new icebreaker for the Great Lakes.
Money will also go toward future projects in the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary in Lake Huron.
