A Fight Between Brothers Leads To Shots Fired In Clare County

Clare County deputies arrested a man they say shot his brother during a fight.

Calls came in about a shooting at a house in Harrison around 9:30 p.m. Sunday night.

One of the brothers accused the other of damaging his property, that led to a fist fight.

Police say it escalated to a point where the Jesse Vanbuskirk grabbed a shotgun and shot the younger brother in the shoulder.

The victim had to be taken a downstate hospital, but is said to be doing okay.

Vanbuskirk has been charged with assault with intent to murder, weapons-felony firearms and weapons-firearms short barreled shotgun/rifle.

He has been arraigned with bond set at $300,000.

Vanbuskirk remains lodged in the Clare County Jail.
