Feedback at 5:00: Man Arrested After Saving Dog From Hot Car

Police in Georgia arrested a man for smashing a car window to free a dog.

Michael Hammons is charged with criminal trespassing after saving the small Pomeranian mix from a hot car.

Witnesses say as they waited for police to arrive, he smashed the window.

The car’s owner insisted he be arrested.

He was.

And the owner was cited for leaving her dog in a hot car.

In Georgia, the law allows someone to break a window to save a child, but not a pet.

For tonight’s Feedback at 5:00, we want to know what you think about this situation.

Should Hammons have been arrested?

Why or why not?
