Florida Police Respond to Shooting Involving George Zimmerman
Police in Florida say they responded to a shooting Monday afternoon involving George Zimmerman.
Lake Mary police say Zimmerman was not the shooter and the man who called was the same person involved in a road rage incident with Zimmerman last year.
Police say Matthew Apperson called 911 to report the shooting.
Last year, Apperson said Zimmerman threatened to kill him during a road rage confrontation.
Zimmerman’s lawyer says he wasn’t seriously hurt but did go to the hospital.
He says a bullet missed Zimerman’s head, but he was sprayed with glass from his car’s windshield.
In 2013 Zimmerman was acquitted in the deadly shooting of Trayvon Martin, an unarmed black teenager.
The case sparked protests and a nationwide debate about race relations.
