Marijuana Now Decriminalized in East Lansing

Marijuana is now decriminalized in one Michigan city after Tuesday’s election.

Voters in East Lansing approved the measure.

Unofficial results show 65 percent of people voted in favor of it.

The amendment makes the use, possession and transfer of up to one ounce of marijuana on private property legal for people 21 and older.

The state of Michigan bans marijuana use and possession unless it’s for medical purposes.
