Mason County Barn Owner Helps Find Break-In Suspect
A man from Lake Odessa is now in custody for stealing antique car parts during a break-in in Mason County.
And the owner helped solve the crime.
He hadn’t been to his barn in Eden Township in several months, when he noticed items were missing and recovered a cigarette butt.
Since he didn’t smoke, he knew someone had been on his property.
The thief had sold the items for about $800 to a scrap shop. The owner found him in the neighborhood and called police.
He was arrested Thursday.
He is expected to be arraigned Friday afternoon.
