Thousands Dead After Nepal Earthquake

Search and rescue teams are continuing their search this morning for people who might still be alive after a deadly earthquake hit Nepal.

But the death toll continues to climb.

Police in Nepal say more than 5,500 people have died.

And more than 11,000 have been injured.

The quake also triggered an avalanche at Mount Everest, killing nearly 20 people at a base camp.

The United States sent an aircraft carrying relief supplies to Nepal.
