Kids Kove Petition Draws Hundreds of Signatures

A Traverse City woman, looking to breathe new life into one of her favorite places.

Cari Noga’s petition to have a new playground built where Kids Kove now sits already features more than 700 signatures.

Kids Kove will be demolished after closing over safety concerns.

Noga says her children inspired her– asking when their favorite playground would re-open.

She had to give them a disappointing answer and had the idea to start a petition.

She’s asking the county parks department to break ground on a new playground at the Civic Center by May of 2016.

She says the shared memories have been boosting community support.

“So many of the comments on the petition have echoed similar sentiments of such strong affection for this place that was built by volunteers and such disappointment that it’s going of course but, to my point, that there are no plans to replace it,” said Noga.

Demolition’s scheduled to begin next week.
