Boston Bombing Defense Lawyers Urge Jurors to Spare Tsarnaev’s Life
An update this morning on the trial of the convicted Boston Marathon bomber.
Defense lawyers say Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was a good kid led down the wrong path by his older brother.
They pleaded with jurors to spare his life as they delivered the defense’s opening statement in the trial’s penalty phase.
Tsarnaev’s lawyers said no punishment would be equal to the suffering of the bombing victims, but giving him life in prison would end the legal case for good.
Tsarnaev was convicted earlier this month in the bombings that killed three people and injured more than 260.
