Canadian Ship Afloat Again
The grounded 603 foot Canadian Ship, Mississagi, is finally afloat.
It went aground Wednesday in the St. Mary’s river on it’s way from Bruce Mines in Ontario, Canada.
Coast Guard ships came to the rescue, offloading 2,000 pounds of stone that the carrier was transporting.
It was enough to lift the ship off the shallow bottom and get it floating again.
After the Coast Guard inspected the ship for damage, it will now make its way back to Bruce Mines to reload its cargo.
Why it went aground is still being investigated.
This incident didn’t cause any injuries or pollution.
