David Petraeus Sentenced to Two Years Probation, $100,000 Fine
Former CIA Director David Petraeus was sentenced to two years’ probation and a $100,000 fine for giving his biographer classified material.
Petraeus’s career was also destroyed after the public discovered he was having an affair with his biographer.
The sentencing Thursday came a few months after Petraeus said he would plead guilty to a misdemeanor count of unauthorized removal and retention of classified material.
An agreement had a possible sentence of up to a year in prison.
Prosecutors originally recommended two years of probation and a $40,000 fine.
