Former Michigan Supreme Court Justice Elizabeth “Betty” Weaver Passes Away

A Former Michigan Supreme Court Justice has passed away.

Elizabeth Weaver died at the age of 74.

She served as a probate judge in Leelanau County for more than ten years.

Then she went to the Court of Appeals.

And finished her career with the Michigan Supreme Court.

She retired in 2010.

Those who knew Weaver say she will be missed.

“I think it’s a loss for the Leelanau County, we’re a tight knit community and we’ve feel like we’ve lost a friend.”

Governor Rick Snyder says Elizabeth Weaver was passionate about helping troubled youth.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
