Kalkaska Man Sentenced to Jail Time After Keeping State Trooper’s Gun

A Northern Michigan man, sentenced to jail time for keeping a State Trooper’s gun.

Tim Flanagan, of Kalkaska, found a gun in the restroom of Glen’s store in 2013.

Police say they were investigating an unrelated matter many weeks later and learned about the stolen pistol from Flanagan’s wife.

Flanagan testified that he found the gun and took it home for safe keeping.

He says the gun was not stolen — but, this week, an appeals court claims he knew the gun belonged to someone else.

He was convicted of concealing a stolen firearm and sentenced to 60 days in jail.
