School Mourning Loss of Roscommon County Student
A Northern Michigan school is mourning the loss of a young student tonight.
Eight-year-old Kade Schmitt passed away Tuesday from a terminal illness.
He was a second grader at Charlton Heston Academy in Roscommon County.
His school is in shock, but knows his memory will live on.
Kade’s friends knew him as someone who always had a smile on his face and made everyone laugh.
Friday, the school will be closed as they encourage students, staff and the community to support Kade’s family.
His funeral and visitation is Friday at 11 a.m. at Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church.
