Statewide Tornado Drill Takes Place Tomorrow
Counties across Michigan are participating in a statewide tornado drill tomorrow.
As part of the 2 p.m. drill, alerts will be sent out to smart phones and NOAA weather radios.
Emergency Management put out information about safe hiding places, like areas without windows.
One clerk in Wexford County says it’s important for her office to practice working with new technology in emergencies.
“We have never really been sure how to handle them,” Wexford County Clerk Elaine Richardson said. “We’ve hidden under stairwells and thought we were OK until windows broke out but we need to be prepared always be prepared.”
The statewide tornado drill is a part of Severe Weather Awareness Week.
