Mobile Food Pantry Feeds Families in Cadillac

Families in need were able to receive free food in Wexford County today, thanks to a mobile food pantry.

It was the first one by a new non-profit called Living Tree Outreach. Cadillac Resident Bob Reddick said he founded the organization after seeing the financial need in Cadillac.

The organization received food from Feeding America to give out to families.

The first 100 families to show up during the two-hour window were able to get a four-day supply of food.

There were around 5,000 pounds of food to give out, and volunteers even rallied some of their friends to help out.

Volunteer Josiah Campbell said, “I came with my church, and my church asked me to ask all my friends so I got a good, I got some of the football players together and we came out and we helped .”

Reddick is hoping the non-profit garners enough support to open its own facility in town.
