Another Phone Scam Hits Ogemaw County

Another phone scam is hitting parts of Ogemaw County.

This time, the person claims to be calling from a high school, asking for donations.

The West Branch Police Chief is warning area businesses of the possible scam after getting a report from a local jewelry store.

The store reported a private number called them , claiming they were from Ogemaw Heights High School and looking for donations for the school’s track teams.

Police say anyone who receives a call like this should report it to police immediately.
