London Police Searching For Jewelry Thief
Police in London are working hard Wednesday trying to figure out who broke into a vault in London’s jewelry district.
It happened during the Easter weekend.
Police say the thieves may have gotten away with as much as $300 million worth of valuables from around 70 safety deposit boxes.
It happened in Hatton Garden — the center of London’s diamond district.
Wednesday, investigators are collecting clues from the area.
And jewelers are counting how much was taken.
When heists like this happen, London brings in the flying squad.
One former commander of the specialist team said the first place the team will look is close to home.
Detectives are now taking pictures of the scene and collecting whatever evidence they can.
They expect the process to take two days.
