Ferguson Voters Elect New City Council Members

Voters in Ferguson, Missouri made their way to the polls Tuesday for city council elections.

It comes after months of tension and protests following the 2014 deadly shooting of unarmed African-American Michael Brown by white officer Darren Wilson.

The population of Ferguson is about 70 percent African-American.

But five of the six city council seats are held by whites.

Three seats are up for grabs Tuesday.

Two African-American men are running for one seat.

Two African-American women are running for another.
