Kalkaska Pizzeria Serves Free Easter Meals

“The food is really good but the biggest thing is when you walk in there you feel like you’re walking into your family.”

People of all ages took advantage of G’s Pizzeria free easter meal today. Thirteen-year-old Nicholas stopped by the popular restaurant with his parents and brother.

“I like spending time with my family and I like the food,” says Nicholas.

While a pizzeria may not be the first thing that comes to mind for a holiday meal, G’s Pizzeria transforms their entire menu — creating a buffet-style Easter celebration.

“It’s a way to tell them thank you and it’s opening up the community, the restaurant to just say come in and have some fellowship and have a great dinner,” says Mark Galea, the owner and manager of the restaurant.

Lasagna, ham and sweet treats were just some of today’s options. The restaurant teams up with Saint Mary’s of The Wood’s parish to pull off the massive feast, and their selfless efforts do not go unnoticed.

“I just feel that people in the community should support the businesses that give so much back to them,” says Katherine Magee. She enjoys coming to the restaurant because they treat customers like family.

Owner Mark Galea says this is the second time they’ve been able to host the Easter meal. They’ve done the same thing for Christmas, and plan to continue the annual celebrations.

“I just appreciate everyone that came in and everyone that supports us and all the staff that helped put this on today. We’re real thankful,” says Galea.
