Outdoorsmen Gather for Fins and Feathers Event in Cadillac
This weekend might belong to the Easter bunny but it was all about fins and feathers today in Cadillac.
The DNR hosted their second annual Fins and Feathers Festival at the Carl T. Johnson Center. The day included vendors selling hunting and fishing supplies as well as demonstrations on salmon fishing and turkey calling.
Jim Maturen says hobbies like turkey hunting are a great way to get outside and discover all northern Michigan has to offer.
“It’s really a game of psychology. The fun of wild turkey hunting is there’s different ways to kill a turkey but when you call an old gobbler up, really you’re reversing nature when you do call them up. Ultimate as far as hunter’s go I think is turkey hunting.”
The DNR hopes to do it all again next year.
