Lamoreaux-Tate steps down as Ferris coach
Ferris State University is looking for a new women’s basketball coach. The University announced that head coach Colleen Lamoreaux-Tate resigned to focus on family and health concerns.
The coach said in a press release, “Coaching is a very rewarding and demanding profession and after this past season, in which I had a health scare, I learned that my family and health are what’s most important to me.”
Lamoreaux-Tate came to Big Rapids three years ago as one of the most successful high school girls basketball coaches in West Michigan. She guided the Bulldogs to a berth in the GLIAC Tournament in her first year at the helm. However the team has since posted back-to-back losing seasons.
Lamoreaux-Tate will stay with the team through May 1 and the school says a search for her replacement will begin as soon as possible.
