Buckley Food Pantry is Branching out

A new food pantry in Wexford County is branching out to get more food to those who need it most.

Four months ago, the Feeding America organization and the National Food Coalition joined forces to create the new food pantry.

The pantry in Buckley helps low income families and seniors put meals on the table.

The food pantry provides paper products, canned food, noodles and meat.

The idea of a carry-out food pantry started because they saw a need for it in the community.

“What that’s going to allow the community to do is during those times to come in and literally shop for groceries that they wouldn’t be able to afford to purchase and feed their families at their home,” said Kit Potter, director of operations.

The food pantry in Buckley is open two days a week.
