Gov. Snyder Wants Michigan Energy Law Update
Governor Rick Snyder is calling on lawmakers to update Michigan’s energy law.
That includes pushing for more energy-efficiency and using wind and natural gas for power.
The governor said the electricity mix can be 30 to 40 percent renewable and eliminate energy waste by 2025.
He claims Michigan is too dependent on burning coal to power homes and businesses.
Current law says 10 percent of the state’s energy must come from renewable sources by the end of this year.
