Community Puts-Up Arena & Helps Disabled Children, Local Ranch
A dream finally becoming a reality for a special Northern Michigan ranch.
Today volunteers at Hopewell Ranch in Weidman were busy building an indoor horse arena.
The ranch offers theraputic riding and equine assisted therapy to children with special needs or are coping with a troubled past.
The ranch says this new arena will allow them to offer services before and after their traditional summer months.
“It’s amazing for us to be able to serve these children.” said Program Coordinator Jodi Stuber. “There won’t be the gaps, where you make so much progress and then all of a sudden you have to stop. This will change how we function out here and we’re so happy about that.”
The ranch is looking for more volunteers to help them finish the project by May.
