Northern Michigan State Trooper Named Trooper of the Year

A Northern Michigan State trooper is being recognized for his passion and hard work with the Michigan State Police.

Trooper Corey Hebner, stationed at the Gaylord and Petoskey Post, also serves as the community service trooper.

He’s been with the State Police for 19 years, and does a lot of work with schools.

He’s known for his dedication to youth and community education.

Hebner say’s its not only an honor to receive the award, but to work alongside his brothers and sisters in blue.

“They talk about bleeding blue.. A lot of guys out there do bleed blue they want to represent the department and the best foot forward, it’s amazing just to be associated with MSP and the troopers I work with on a daily basis.”

Hebner accepted the award in Lansing in January.
