MyNorthTickets Minute: Traverse Symphony Orchestra, Maestro Raffle & Musical Trio

If you’re looking to start the year with some musical entertainment, mark your calendar with these local events:

The first is at Corson Auditorium in Interlochen, it’s the Traverse Symphony Orchestra presenting Tchaikovsky Fireworks. It’s an energetic, passionate program specifically chosen to celebrate the New Year. That’s happening on January 18th.

Now at that concert is the drawing for the winning raffle ticket of the 2015 Maestro Raffle. The winner takes home round-trip airfare for two, hotel accommodations for three nights, tickets to the ballet at the Vienna State Opera and dinner with Maestro Rhodes. You can still buy those tickets leading up to the 18th.

Just a ways north in Leland is a concert by Seth Bernard with Dan Rickabus from the band The Crane Wives and Mike Lynch from Steppin’ In It. The trio will present an eclectic combination of music, vocals and lyrics for all ages. That’s happening January 15th at the Old Art Building.

As always, all your tickets are available online at

May these concerts get you whistling a fine tune this month. I’m Jenny Buechel, and I’ll see you next week with another MyNorthTickets Minute.
