Black Friday Events For The Non-Shopper
If you’re looking for alternatives to shopping this Black Friday, check out these event options to kick off your holiday season.
After the summer months, Moomer’s Homemade Ice Cream whips up their limited holiday edition flavors. Mistletoe is made with crunchy cornflake cookie pieces and You’re A Fruitcake is rum-based with real chunks of fruit cake. While ice cream is always an event in my book, this Friday Moomer’s begins their Gingerbread Decorating Holiday event, too. Bring the kiddos, a friend, or the entire family and decorate your gingerbread to the nines. Moomer’s puts out an impressive spread of candies, frostings that add up to big costs when doing it at home. See the package options at Moomer’s and get those details here.
A lot of our northern Michigan downtowns will be bustling this Black Friday as they welcome in the holiday season with tree lightings, caroling and the big Santa parade. Cadillac, Glen Arbor, Charlevoix and Treetops Resort in Gaylord are all having those festivals.
Now aside from Santa another celebrating coming Up North is television Chef Mario Batali. He’ll be in Traverse City at Horizon Books, broadcasting with WKLT’s Omelette and Friends. He’ll be giving cooking demos there on site and signing his new cookbook for anyone sneaking in a little shopping. That’s all happening Friday morning at 9:30am.
Whether you find yourself at a small town event or a shopping mall this Black Friday, may it be a warm and joyful start to your holiday season!
