NCF Raises Thousands For Local Nonprofits
The National Cherry Festival is done and over with, but people are still remembering how great this years festival was.
Dozens of people gathered in Clinch Park on Wednesday to say thank you to all the people who have supported the event.
There was more than 2,000 volunteers that pitched in this year.
Organizers say the event would not be possible without the support of the community.
“We are very proud to give $28,000 to local nonprofit’s this year,” said Trevor Tkach, National Cherry Festival Executive Director. “The $15,000 contribution that we were able to make to the fireworks fund for the future of fireworks in Traverse City is very important and we couldn’t of done it without the partnership of the city.”
About half a million people attended this years festival.
