Track Coach Admits to Sex Crimes in Manistee County

The middle school track coach who solicited sex from his athletes now admits to the crime.

Tyler Groenwald was an assistant coach at Onekama Middle School and he volunteered at Bear Lake.

This week, Groenwald pleaded guilty to two counts of soliciting a child for immoral purposes and two counts of using a computer to commit a crime.

All other charges were dropped.

Investigators say he inappropriately texted students he either coached or had met through their older siblings.
