Paul Mitchell Runs for Republican Candidate in 4th District

One of the major races for Northern Michigan is between John Moolenaar and Paul Mitchell.

They’re battling it out for the fourth Congressional District.

Starting our live team coverage, 9&10’s Eric Lloyd is in Mt. Pleasant with Paul Mitchell.

Eric is live at Buck’s Run Golf Club just outside Mt. Pleasant where in just a few hours supporters of Paul Mitchell will pile in for what they hope is a victory party as they watch the results roll in.

This has been Mitchell’s first election as he campaigns as a Washington outsider looking to shake up and fix a broken Congress.

Today Mitchell was down in Frankenmuth meeting voters before heading home to vote himself near his home in Saginaw County.

The fourth Congressional District is a very large land area stretching from Northport to Saginaw County.

Eric was out earlier in Mt. Pleasant to check out some polling stations and numbers were in the single digits for voter turnout but the city clerk is hoping to hit double digits with the after work rush.

We will see if the low turnout is good or bad news tonight for Mitchell as the results roll in online this evening.
