Splash Pad Final Report Released
Problems with Traverse City’s splash pad could soon be resolved.
This is an update to an issue we’ve been following since last summer.
Two weeks ago, a consultant suggested the Waterscape would need thousands of dollars of repairs to fix numerous issues including safety concerns, and water drainage problems.
This comes after sewage backed up the lines at the splash pad last summer.
Now, a final draft has been put together for city leaders to review.
“I think this report is long overdue. I think we need to address this issue,” said Michael Estes, Traverse City Mayor. “We owe it to the public to address this issue and to deal with all of the issues that are addressed in here in a positive way.”
City commissioners will meet on August 11th to review the final report and make suggestions of what should or should not be in the report, and what should be done to fix the problems.
