July National Employment Report Shows Increased Job Growth
The U.S. economy added 209,000 jobs in July, and the unemployment rate rose to 6.2%.
The Labor Department says it’s the sixth month in a row that job growth has topped 200,000.
According to the latest employment report, the unemployment rate ticked up .1% because more Americans started looking for work in the improved job market.
Michigan’s unemployment rate is 7.4%, which is down from previous months.
