Lake Superior State hires Kristen Rogers

When Kristen Rogers was playing basketball for Wayne State University, Lake Superior State University was winning GLIAC titles in women’s basketball.

Now Rogers is in charge of getting the Lakers back to that run of success.

Lake Superior State announced Rogers as their new women’s basketball coach Monday.

Rogers played for the Warriors from 2002-2006.  The Lakers won four straight GLIAC titles during that stretch.

However, the Lakers finished last season with a 5-23 record.

The Lakers coach last season, Shannon Eggers, resigned from the program in June to pursue career opportunities in Texas.

Rogers has spent the last three seasons as an assistant with Northern Michigan University.
