Michigan Make-A-Wish Bike Tour Kicks Off

Cyclists are traveling more than 300 miles all for one cause, to make kids wishes come true.

The 27th annual bike tour for Make-A-Wish Michigan kicked off in Traverse City on Thursday.

Riders are expected to arrive in Brooklyn Michigan by Sunday.

On Thursday, the nine hundred participants made their way to the Cherry Capital.

Starting at six a.m. on Friday, cyclists will ride 100 miles per day.

The event is expected to raise $2 million to grant wishes to kids with life-threatening medical conditions.

“It’s such a heart warming event. These riders are so passionate and committed to participating in this event and helping to raise money to grant these wishes,” said Sherri Collins, Make-A-Wish Vice President of Marketing.

Make-A-Wish Michigan has granted more then 7,500 wishes to kids across the state.
