Manistique Park Changes Name To Honor Sunken Freighter, Mariners Lost

The name of an Upper Peninsula park was changed to honor a sunken freighter and the mariners lives lost.

Lakeview Park in Manistique held a ceremony Sunday afternoon, marking the name change to Carl D. Bradley Memorial Park.

The Carl D. Bradley was 20 miles off the Manistique shore on November 18, 1958 when it sank in a fierce storm. The storm killed all but two of the 35 crew members aboard.
