Lake County Prepares for 58th Trout-a-Rama

It’s time for Baldwin’s oldest and most famous festival: Trout-a-Rama.

The city worked together to get ready and the 58th Trout-a-Rama started downtown today.

There’s a carnival right off of Main Street, live music and fishing for kids. This year’s Trout-a-Rama could be the biggest yet.

The festival is hosting its parade tomorrow but crews are still busy tonight as they open up the rides to everyone.

“For a long time, Trout-a-Rama was sort of like Lake County’s fair,” said Fred Olson, president of Trout-a-Rama. “No other county didn’t have a fair. Trout-a-Rama is the oldest festival in the county.”

Trout-a-Rama runs through Sunday and will have live music every night in the largest beer tent in Michigan.
