Flags Lowered to Honor Former Lieutenant Governor Binsfeld
U.S. flags will fly at half staff this Friday through Sunday to honor former Lieutenant Governor Connie Binsfeld.
Binsfeld passed away in January at age 89.
She lived in Glen Arbor in Leelanau County.
Along with her role as Lieutenant Governor, Binsfeld served on the Leelanau County Commission.
She also worked on bills addressing domestic violence and protecting the environment.
Binsfeld also worked to help restore the City Opera House in Traverse City.
A memorial will be held this Saturday at Glen Arbor Township Hall for Binsfeld and her husband John, he also died this year.
