Bums Manager Rohn happy to have 3 All-Stars
TRAVERSE CITY – Only two games left in the first half of the Frontier League season.
Starting Monday, most of the Traverse City Beach Bums get four days off.
However, a trio of them will head south to GCS Ballpark just outside of St. Louis, Missouri for the Frontier League’s version of the Mid-Summer Classic.
Pitchers D.J. Johnson and Casey Delgado will be making their first Frontier League All-Star appearance. They will also fly down with their catcher Jake Rhodes.
Friday was their first home game since the announcement so we got a chance to catch up with Manager Dan Rohn.
“We had 6 or 7 that were on the list that were nominated and we got 3 guys out of it so I’m glad,” Rohn said. “These guys all deserve it. Casey’s pitched his butt off all year, a lack of run support has been detrimental to his record. Jake is hitting .340 for us going into this series and DJ’s our leading save guy with 12 or 13 or whatever it is and he’s done a great job on the back end of the bullpen for us.”
We’ll have much more on each individual Beach Bums All-Star on 9&10 News and www.9and10news.com throughout the weekend and leading up to the All-Star Game next week Wednedsay.
